The 2023 NADA show went off without a hitch and proved of great value to dealers, exhibitors, and industry professionals.
NADA CEO Mike Stanton, outgoing Chairman Mike Alford, and incoming Chairman Geoff Pohanka, met with CBT News and shared the following takeaways to expect for the year ahead. Over the next year, NADA plans to:
Continue to fight on behalf of its dealers for temporary LIFO relief for dealers impacted by supply chain issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Meet with the FTC to discuss the new FTC Safeguards Rule, which continues to challenge dealers.
Prepare the industry for electrification. Currently only one-out-of-two consumers will qualify to own an electric vehicle, because of their high price tags and lack of charging infrastructure. The average price of an EV rose $14,000 in 2022.
Call on dealer members to increase their engagement with state and local legislators. “We need to work and speak as one voice,” Stanton concludes.
